Bellingen Shire, NSW Tourism Brand Project (CONCEPTS ONLY)

These images are part of a series of concepts derived from a project tasked with positioning and identifying the unique aspects of the Bellingen Shire. In collaboration with a team of designers, students, artists, the Gumbaynggirr custodians and community consultation are series of concepts were developed. The branding needed to consider the many towns and villages of the shire and the diversity that makes this part of the world unique.

Three key themes emerged:

  • Celebration and protection of the unique natural environment.
  • Respect and acknowlegement of Gumbaynggirr culture, and support for a voice for the traditional custodians of this land.
  • Preservation and recognition of the diverse community and culture.

See below for a selection materials created in response to the project where traditional First Nations symbols are represented in a modern way.
